In Loving Memory Mochi

Assalamualaikum

image

Last month we were so happy to welcome Mochi or Ngek (my mother gave that name 😂) Our baby kitten. She came from nowhere, suspected that she was abandoned by someone in front of our house.

Because of her, our old cat Boboi return to our home. We were so happy to have two adorable cats. Amani was the one over excited to play with them.

Until last Saturday, the last day we saw her. She was accidentally hit by my brother. Sad, of course but her memory with us remains. Rest in peace, dearie kitty.

Teachers’s Day

Assalamualaikum lovelies!

On Mother’s Day, Amani told me she wanted to write a Mother’s Day card. I just gave her doodle book and let her write on it. When it was done, she showed it to me. Yeah, that’s me and her. Looks like we are in a sugar rush moment. Lol. Can you see ‘mirror’ M there? I sometimes worried that she kept on doing mirror writing. More practise, perhaps.

On the weekend, I helped her to make gifts for her teachers. Last year, we had made Cactus bead cupcakes. So for this year, we were making Tulip Bead Cupcakes.

Yeah, that’s the tools for making it. Pysla Beads, Cupcake cups, Playdough and artificial shells. Amani was on task to deco the shells.

Ready for delivery.

She was so excited to give the cupcakes to her teachers. Along the way to her school, she kept on rehearsing how to wish her teacher. “Happy Teacher’s Day!” she said.

And for the potluck, I chose to pack fruits for them. As Amani always remind me to bring healthy fruits for them. 😅

Hair styles

Assalamualaikum.

image

Last week, when I fetched Amani from school I saw that her hair was tied into sugar cane styles. She told me her teacher made it. The day before, her hair was styled as in Elsa braids.

And then she asked me to braid her hair. However, I could only made a messy braids on her. Lol!

Selfood #24 : Food Hunting

Assalamualaikum…

Crabs. 🦀 I love crabs but not fancy to crack the shell. Bahaha. I admit it, I’m so ‘manja’ 😂 Well, the dish we were having here was at D’Ketam Cafe, Sematan. My brother in law insisted on me to try this. It is known that this is the best place to have Crab dishes in Sematan.

On the way to Serikin, there were vendors selling veggies and local plants at the sideway if the road. Normally we would stop there on the way back to Kuching. And so that day I stop there after shopping at Serikin. I bought some veggies, fruits and this. This is the an exotic dish – Nasi Periuk Kera (Rice in a pitcher plant). Here they made it with local paddy which is Beras Huma. Some of them had prawn sambal filling inside.

image

I also bought Buah Salak from there. This local and exotic fruit taste bittersweet.
