Selfood 43# : Aidiladha Celebration

Assalamualaikum

Holiday is over.

Today I feel so Tuesday blues .

Let’s throwback some of the photos taken during the long honeymoon holiday. During eid (Aidiladha), mom cooked Lamb curry and Daging Masak Hitam. My MIL cooked Kuah Satay and Ketupat. I always loved my MIL ketupat.

Here what I served to my tummy at my huaband’s Mak Nek house. Those three were the Javanese cuisines. All were my favourite. 😋

I you were asking me, what had I contributed for the special day? Me and Amani were in charged in baking cheese tarts. 😂

Making Sushi

Assalamualaikum..

Last week The Sushi King team went to Amani’s school. They taught the kids on how to make sushi.

(Credits picture from Teacher Zah)

And when she came home, she was so excited to show the sushi that she made. It looked messy but taste good.

How lucky children nowadays. I wish the Sushi King company would come to my office someday. 😂😂

Selfood #42: Air tangan Azura Chan (Lol)

Assalamualaikum..

This is my most favourite dish whenever I eat ‘Nasi Campur’. The japanese tofu with eggs. Often I tried to cook it at home but the attempt always failed. The tofus became scrambled. This time, I had succeed to cook it without flaws. Ahaha. Now I know the tips, which is to deep fried the tofu first.

On the same day, I cook meatball cornbeef with mint leaves. Cornbeef dish is my favourite all the time.

My brother in law had requested for Layered Cheese Cake. That’s his favourite. Therefore I made one for him.

There is nothing special with this cake. This non bake cake is very simple to make. And this is the only cake that I am capable to make. Other cake, fail! Lol.

Selfood #41 : Eat like local

Assalamualaikum

When I uploaded this picture in my instagram account, it caught an attraction from my foreign instagram friend. Then, I just realised that this food only famous here in our country. So tell me how many of you loves “buntut manok”?

Last month, we had a birthday lunch in the office. They ordered Nasi Lemak International that day. It seems like Nasi Lemak berlauk to me. I just can’t have the sambal, too spicy. 😵

Selfood #40 : Miscellinous

Assalamualaikum

Kopicut Fried BeeHoon. 😋

Kluang Station Chicken Rice 😋

Dayang Salahah Cuisine’s Mixed Rice. Except for the beansprouts, that was from Amani’s Kolo Mee. 😅

Rojak Ayam @ Rojak Kuchey (the new shop at Jalan Petanak). I still prefer the original Rojak Kuchey from his father.

Nasi Lemak Chicken Wing @ Madam Tangs

Fried Noodles @ Gerai Kak Su. Near Golden Dragon City.

Selfood #39 : Fork and Knife

Assalamualaikum

My ‘pantun’ to dine in here finally was answered by DearDear. Lol! That evening, he just brought us straight to this restaurant. Normally we would argued on where to eat. 😅 So I ordered Grilled Salmon and it tasted really good. I liked the mashed potato too. DearDear ordered for Lamb something which I didn’t bother to take a picture. I had forked on some from his plate and it tasted so good too.

This satisfied face represents her parent’s satisfied tummy. Lol! Indeed, she was bad mood that evening because the fried chicken wings that we ordered happened to be honey chicken wings. She dislike the meal and opted for fries only. Poor my baby.

Selfood #38 : Rumah Hijau Cafe

Assalamualaikum.

How are you lovelies?

I loved this view. Been dreaming of decorating my own house like this someday. 😁 If you are familiar with Rumah Hijau Cafe, you would recognise thid spot. The second section inside the cafe.

As long as I remember from my previous visits, the Nasi Ayam Penyet was only served on the day. That night, after a long time didn’t eat here, I asked them about the ‘daytime’ menu. And they said the Nasi Ayam Penyet also serve in the nightime menu. Yeay! So one penyet for me.

Nasi Arab Mandy, of course this one chosen by DearDear.

I bet you were asking about Amani’s meal. Well, she had a Fried Chicken Chop and Mama was too busy to entertain her own tummy until she forgot to snap picture of Amani’s meal. Bahaha.

Selfood #37 : KopiCut

Assalamaualaikum.

Hiya lovelies.

In my previous post, it was about Dear Dear birthday. Today it’s another birthday post. It happened when last week, we treated Ain for an advance birthday celebration. So off we went to KopiCut.

Ain has the same birthday with Amani. Since she will be taking a holiday during the exact date, we celebrated it earlier.

There were so many antique decorations in this shop. They even let the wall unpainted like that.

Close up a bit. Yeah, I thought they were books. Some of them were old books. Some of it were the film rolls.

Old briefcases, sewing machine and chairs. Very vintage! However, I didn’t recommend to bring children to the first floor because the stairs were a bit steep.

My friend recommended me to try their signature menu Cheezy Chicken Chop. It was really nice. The chicken was so crispy and tender. The salad was good and I liked the way they fried the fries. Not too dry and or crunchy. The dip sauce was the best, but too little for me. haha. This plate cost for RM18.

They have nasi campur for lunch also, with free sirap drink.

Oh, ever wonder why Kopi (Coffee) Cut ? Because they also have a barber shop inside the Cafe. You can have have a haircut and drink coffee at the same time.

KopiCut, Wayang Street, Kuching.

Selfood #36 : Rj Ayam Bakar Kopitiam

Assalamualaikum. Hello lovelies!

As tradition continues. We went to Rj Ayam Bakar Kopitiam for Azlina birthday treats. Yup, it was my first time too, eating here.

The specialties there of course the famous Nasi Ayam Penyet and Nasi Ayam Bakar. I opted for Nasi Ayam Penyet, because my friend told me the Ayam Bakar is more spicy than this. After trying this, I think that their another outlet (at Satok) served more tasty and spicy than here.

And here is the birthday girl! Look at the expression. Win! 😂 Happy Belated Birthday, baby girl. 😘

Selfood #35 : Coffee Garden

Assalamualaikum..

Rise and shine lovelies!

Everytime I went to Tun Jugah mall, I always mesmerised with this shop – Coffee Garden. Located at the ground floor, very easy to spot on. So one day we decided to try having lunch at this place.

I love the decoration, suits to the name itself. I bet this owner is the same owner of Coffee Clinic & Coffee Factory. Same concept, different outlets. Pretty cool.

Since I’m not a coffee lover, I didn’t order any coffee that day. I chose on promotion menu that day Cajun Chicken Aglio Olio with free Iced Lemon Tea at only RM11. My colleagues tried on Nasi Ayam Penyet with free Iced Lemon Tea at only RM10.

As you can see, it’s a big portion for me. However, I am quite satisfied with the taste and nice presentation. The only problem is the slow service, which I can accepted that day because they were only two staffs on duty that day.

I am definitely will come again to this place. They were outside section too where the real japanese roses were planted. Yup, next time. 😉
