Family Hi Tea

Hi all. How was your weekend?
It’s been a great weekend for me.

image

My youngest brother is here for mid semester break. So we decided to have a family gathering at Waterfront Cafe, Hilton. My father’s condition is also getting better. He is now capable to walk with his walker. Alhamdulillah…

image

My favourite all the times. Sushi and Caesar Salad. I think I have ‘sapu’ all the sushi on the plate. Lol!  The other food were also marvelous.

image

The kids were having fun, especially Amani. She really enjoyed her cousins’ companion. She also getting hyper, running here and there. Sugar rush….

image

This is our youngest member in the family. Baby Emir. Amani didn’t get jealous yesterday. Thanks to all the audience who saw her doing her performance. lol!

image

The cousins. Looks like they were really having fun. I realised, off all the pictures… my family is very popular with ‘photobomb’ pic. Lol!

Untill next time…

Office lunch 2014

Hello everyone.
I hope you are enjoying the weekend.
Well, this is a story of the last Friday. I’m sorry I’m not commited to update my blog everyday. It is because I was very tired and this morning I had dizziness. I guessed I don’t have enough rest recently.

Okay then, back to the main topic. Last friday my company had an office lunch at Sarawak Club, Kuching. Once I heard where the venue was, I feel extremely excited. Haha. Why? Because I really loved the food.

image

This is the first course. Loves the roti jala… yumm yumm.

image

Moving on to the second course. The roasted chicken. Love the deco.

image

Now this is my most faaaayvorite in Sarawak Club. The butter prawns. Trust me, Sarawak Club has the best butter prawn in town. wiwiwi.

image

History time! Did you know that Sarawak Club was once in razed around July 2006? I remember I was stilll studying in Unimas during that time. Now, it is fully renovated and they have one section in the building that displayed some left artefacts from the fire. I managed to take some interesting photos. Clockwise (L-R):
1. Remains of the Rajah Room’s crockeries during the pre dawn.
2. The charred glasses, utensils…. how sad to look at it.
3. The clock which hung on the wall of the library somewhat eerily showing the time the intense heat of the fire reached the library.
4. The cock head, the only artefact saved and left by us during the massive lunch. Lol!!!!

image

Here’s me and my girls… Intended to pose with “crossed leg” but our photographer captured the candid moment. hehe.

Added one of the photo into my #100happydays challenge. 😀

That’s it for today. Till then, ciao…

Blooming

Hello readers and lovely friends….
I bet some of your place is having spring season at the moment right..
Well, in Malaysia we do not experienced the spring season. However, this month I spot on that it’s like a blooming season…

image

The mango tree in front of my house is blooming. Meaning…. it’s going to be mango season soon. Yippie! My father told me this tree is the  same age as me. They srarted to plant it on 1982. (so I let you do the calculation on your own). lol.

image

This is a view from the back of my house. The yellow flower also blooming. Only my cat – Gendot didn’t bloom. Lol. But I bet she’s enjoying the ‘blooming’ season.

So, did your flowers start to bloom? I wish I had tulips on my garden. But that’s imposible. I wish to hold real tulip one day….

Bye for now…

Birthday Getaway

On my birthday, I had planned for a weekend getaway at Damai Beach Resort. It was something that I look forward, for the three of us.

image

I guessed it was just my day. We had a chalet which was facing the sea view. I was very excited! I love the room, very comfortable for three of us. See the first picture on top? I love sitting at that place and watching the outside view. How I wish I have a room like this.

image

After we checked in, we went to the Damai Central for lunch. There is a foodcourt and a few shops but the price is killing! Well, we had no choice but to buy from the limited shops. As you can see, the trademark of the place is the arch of the big hornbill. It’s a must to take picture of the trademark.

image

In the evening, we had a walk along the sea shores. Capturing the beautiful views of the beach. It feels soothing…

image

I love taking picture of trees. I found that tree is a unique subject. It’s natural… Agree with me?

image

That’s us! Hehe. Amani was still afraid of the water. She’d being clingy to me all time. haish…

image

The next morning, we woke up surrounded by a beautiful view. As you can see, it’s a Mount Santubong on the background. After having breakfast, we went to the beach. At first, Amani was crying and doesn’t want to walk on her own. I just forced her and let her played with the sands. Still, she’s being stiff and couldn’t go far from us. huhu.

image

Doodle time!! This activity somehow distracted her fear for a while. She was having fun doodling on her own. 🙂

image

Amani with her ‘Kakak’. That’s a barbie name given by her. I must let Kakak had fun together with her. Otherwise, she would feel insecure. muhuhu.

image

At noon, we checked out from the resort. Before heading home, Amani asked me to take a picture of the archs. I bet she loves the arts.

image

Off we went home. I took a few pictures from the way to Kuching. Another Mount Santubong shot for you… There were few stalls on the roadside, we stop by to have Coconut juice and bought some Jeruk (prickles).

image

Now, that’s me and Amani signing off for today. I hope you enjoy reading this entry and sightseeing the views I had taken.

Till then…

Postcards for pen pals

Hiya!
I have promised to my blog friends Angela and Marian that I will be sending postcards for them. So the postcards hunting begun for the past few weeks.

Later that I found, it was hard to find postcards nowadays. I went to the bookstores but found none of it was selling postcard.

So I went to the Main Baazar @ Craft Baazar to continue the hunting. Only a few shops were selling postcards, and the postcards were faded. I am soo sad to see this. This is not a good impression for tourists when they’re visiting our country.

Last weekend, I went to the Plaza Merdeka. There I found a souvenir shop, so I went to see it. Luckily I found there were so many postcards, souvenirs which is not ‘faded’. The most important thing is the price was so good. Like buy 3 for RM5, Buy 4 for RM10. Good marketing strategy!

So here’s my caught for the hunting.

image

A Sarawak Museum. The museum is located in the middle of the city.

image

The Cats Monument. This is also can be found in the middle of the city. A trademark when you come to Kuching.

Those postcards are on their way to the owner. Hopefully they will like it. 😉

I have plenty of postcards and souvenirs to swap/trade. If any of you interested to join the circle, do email me (nazuramn@yahoo.com) and we will start the swap activity. Would love to hear from you soon…

Temptation #34: Backerei

Backerei is the name of a bread shop. I’m not sure from what language it comes. Do you know? I guessed it means Bakery.

image

Located at the first floor of Wisma Tun Jugah. At first I thought it was a commom bakery. One day, when I passed by the shop, the smells really attracted me.

image

When I entered the shop, I found that there were so many types of bread. Very different from what we always found in local bakery.

image

They also served sandwiches, soups… that day I tried Chicken Mayo Croissant. Taste so good. The bread were very soft. I also have tried their Chicken Mushroom puff, Vanilla choco bread and more (once eaten, I forgot the name. Lol!).

p/s: I love the smell of breads…

Temptation #33: Mi Sapi Hj. Salleh

It’s been awhile I haven’t eat Mi Sapi Hj. Salleh.

image

If you’re Kuching townies, I bet you must be familiar with this place. Located at Satok Flyover, in between the carpet store and Satok Flyover cafe. You’ll find Sepinang Sari.

I remember my father always brought me to eat here. The Mi Sapi was very famous back then. Yesterday me and DearDear brought Amani to the dentist, which was on the 2nd floor of the building as well. After that, we chose to have lunch at Sepinang Sari. I prefer normal Mi Sapi while DearDear ordered Mi Sapi with Tendon. It was very pricey compared to the last time. Now it’s already cost RM4.50 & the Mi Sapi with Tendon was RM7.++ Sigh~

Yeah compared to the last time, the taste now has lost its’ kick. I think it might be because the daughter had take over to run the business. Last time it used to be the owner, Hj Salleh who cooked for the customers.

Nevertheless, it is still nice. My cravings has been fullfil. Wehehe.

Iftar Ramadhan 6&7/1434H

Been so busy lately. Nak update blog pun agak lambat… Always feeling left behind. muhu..

Our menus for Iftar the 6th Ramadhan

image

Simple. Sarawak Laksa and Sardine Sandwich. Those menus were requested by my youngest brother Edos. Orang baruk balit dari Melaya tek… Look at Amani, she is now knows how to recite Doa Makan.

There is another menu requested by my brother. Spaghetti… So we made it as our iftar menu on the 7th day of Ramadhan.

image

Plus another side dish was the fried veggie popiahs (my father’s favourite) and for the dessert, we picked our own Kuini from the Kuini’s tree in front of our house. It taste so sweet.

I’m so proud that so far we still can keep our menus as simple as possible. The best part is, everything is home made… 😉
