Cross Stitch Love Note

Assalamualaikum

Last month I had joined a #csmlovenote swap organised by the Cross Stitch Malaysia group. The task is to complete any cross stitch with the theme of Love Note. Each of us would assigned to one swap partner.

I decided to frame it with embroidery hoop. Unfortunately I made a mistake by cutting the cloth too small for the hoop size. So I cover it with yellow felt and glued the diamond stickers on top of it. What do you think?

In return I received a bunch of love! She gave me the biscornu pin cushion, crochet purse, aida cloth and cross stitch kits. How generous. Thank you, Minn.

Amani really loves to draw. Every drawing, she would tell me her own story. This picture is about a doll in a box.

This picture tells about her dream house. Yeah, I noticed that she always draw a house, her double storey – colourful – dream house. There she was, playing with her cat Jojo, and her friend from school Am. The green building is the shopping complex with lift.

Recently she drawed her family portraits. That’s true. There was Abah, Mama, Usu, Nek Mak and to my surprised she even drawed her late grandfather ‘Nek Bang’ . I asked her, why Nek Bang like that? She told me, Nek Bang is sleeping in the grave. He wore white cloth. 😥 I couldn’t even hold my tears. My daughter really understand the real situation eventhough she is just 5 years old. She must be missing her grandfather so much.

Birthday.me.2017

Assalamualaikum

How have you been lovelies? I hope no one is missing me. Because if you do so, I will feel guilty for neglecting my blog.

15th February, I turned 35 years old. 35 years ago my mother gave birth to me without my father by her side. He was attended a work course in Japan. And so my mother had to drive herself to the hospital. They later informed my father about my birth by telegram.

And this year, just like 35 years ago… we celebrated my birthday without my father again. I am used to him teasing me with him singing a Birthday song when it comes to my birthday. And then he would jokingly asked Amani “Whose birthday is today, Amani?”

That would be my sweet memories with him when he was still around…

I will never hear your singing, your teasing, your laugh, your jokes…

I miss you, Pak. 😥

Sad love story…

Assalamualaikum…

Happy New Year 2017. What? It’s already in the middle of January 2017. I hope it’s not too late to wish new year for you.

As you can see, I’m still here. Alive, breathing but not really kicking. I’m crippled, I haven’t moved on from 2016. In fact, I’m not sure I’d want to.

Back in 2016, my journey of life story ended with sorrows. My father passed away on the 20th December, 2016. It was heartbreaking moment indeed. It happened so fast and I still thought it was just a bad dream.

Everything happens by the will of Allah. Whatever He wills happens, and whatever he does not, will does not happen. All we (my family) really need now is time to heal our sorrows. This is really hard but Im trying to be strong each day facing the reality and living with his memories.

Dear Bapak,

“May Allah answer your secret prayers,

Wipe away your secret tears,

Erase your secret fears,

And lift you to the position you so dearly desire. Amiiin…”

Assalamualaikum. How are you lovelies?

Last week, heard that my best friend Edzy was coming to Kuching. So we grab the chance to meet up at Viva City.

The last time we met was during Hari Raya, last year. Amani was still shy with them. But this time, they were enjoyed listening to Amani’s story. She was excited to have a collection of Hello Kitties from Aunt Edzy & Uncle Is.

And then I brought her to my favourite shop in Viva City. I knew she would love the shop too. So we went to Kaison, and she goes crazy overthere. Lol!

We both love craft. And Cactus!! As I promised to her, I gave her my little Sahara for adoption. In return, she gave me these cute felt cactuses!! There’s even a Sahara replica she made it for me. Thank you Cimeng!! 😘

Selfood #38 : Rumah Hijau Cafe

Assalamualaikum.

How are you lovelies?

I loved this view. Been dreaming of decorating my own house like this someday. 😁 If you are familiar with Rumah Hijau Cafe, you would recognise thid spot. The second section inside the cafe.

As long as I remember from my previous visits, the Nasi Ayam Penyet was only served on the day. That night, after a long time didn’t eat here, I asked them about the ‘daytime’ menu. And they said the Nasi Ayam Penyet also serve in the nightime menu. Yeay! So one penyet for me.

Nasi Arab Mandy, of course this one chosen by DearDear.

I bet you were asking about Amani’s meal. Well, she had a Fried Chicken Chop and Mama was too busy to entertain her own tummy until she forgot to snap picture of Amani’s meal. Bahaha.

Oct.2016 – Reading Wrap Up

Assalamualaikum…

October been my progressive month in reading. Perhaps I was so busy and not really in a good health condition. I would just open my ibook and read. My kind of therapy.

Title : A Monster Calls

Author : Patrick Ness

On the early month, I saw from my hosting group – Buku Junkie that this book is recommended. This book is heart wrenching, sad and at the same time giving hope to us. I gave 5 stars for this book. Soon it will be a film version.

Synopsis (from Goodreads)

The monster showed up after midnight. As they do.

But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting. He’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the one he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments, the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming…

This monster is something different, though. Something ancient, something wild. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor.

It wants the truth.

Title : Black Ice

Author : Becca Fitzpatrick

In the meantime I read this book. Remember my favourite fallen angel series, Hush Hush? This book was from the same author. Yeah, although most of her books were underrated, I found thst I love her writing. And this book, also one of my favourite. Very mysterious!

Synopsis (from Goodreads)

Danger is hard to resist in this sexy thriller from Becca Fitzpatrick, the New York Times bestselling author of the Hush, Hush saga.

Britt Pheiffer has trained to backpack the Teton Range, but she isn’t prepared when her ex-boyfriend, who still haunts her every thought, wants to join her. Before Britt can explore her feelings for Calvin, an unexpected blizzard forces her to seek shelter in a remote cabin, accepting the hospitality of its two very handsome occupants—but these men are fugitives, and they take her hostage.

Britt is forced to guide the men off the mountain, and knows she must stay alive long enough for Calvin to find her. The task is made even more complicated when Britt finds chilling evidence of a series of murders that have taken place there…and in uncovering this, she may become the killer’s next target.

But nothing is as it seems, and everyone is keeping secrets, including Mason, one of her kidnappers. His kindness is confusing Britt. Is he an enemy? Or an ally?

Title : Anna and the French Kiss

Author : Stephanie Perkins

I always love the cover of this book. Always tempted to read it. At first I thought this is a romance genre book. Turns that it is a young adult genre. Just a light reading. Teen story, but I enjoyed reading it.

Synopsis (from Goodreads)

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

Title : Burn for Burn

Author : Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian

Last book that I read for that month was this series. This is the first book of Burn for Burn series. It was from my favourite author, Jenny Han (the one who wrotes To all the boys I loved before) and collaborating with her high school friend Siobhan Vivian (also a write). This book was suprisingly great.

Synopsis (from Goodreads)

Postcard-perfect Jar Island is home to charming tourist shops, pristine beaches, amazing oceanfront homes—and three girls secretly plotting revenge.

KAT is sick and tired of being bullied by her former best friend.

LILLIA has always looked out for her little sister, so when she discovers that one of her guy friends has been secretly hooking up with her, she’s going to put a stop to it.

MARY is perpetually haunted by a traumatic event from years past, and the boy who’s responsible has yet to get what’s coming to him.

None of the girls can act on their revenge fantasies alone without being suspected. But together…anything is possible.

With an alliance in place, there will be no more “I wish I’d said…” or “If I could go back and do things differently…” These girls will show Jar Island that revenge is a dish best enjoyed together.
Now, how progressive right. Lol. I’m near to complete my reading challenge. Wishme luck. Ciao. 😘
